      Benefits are awesome. Exercising in duty is a plus!

      Deployments and they keep downsizing. Its overwhelming to do everything your tasked to do.

      Pros

      Great benefits, good pay, see the world, an awesome chance to develop a skill that is useful when you get out.

      Cons

      Spending 6-8 months a year away from your family, not counting long hours while at home station. Promotions are based too much on book smart and not enough on how well you do your job, because of inflated performance reports.

      Pros

      The Air Force allows a person to cross train through out their career. I feel this is extremely important for personal growth and confidence. Every 10 - 15 years, you need a fresh start and the Air Force allows you to accomplish this.

      Cons

      Because of resent down sizing and lack of budget, Air Force personel are in a high deployment cycles. Logistice Readiness Officers are deployed in a one-to-one dwell (6 months deployed and 6 months at home). Family life is very difficult to manage from Afghanistan or Iraq, so if your married you may want to consult your spouse prior to making the leap.
