Pros

The responsibility bestowed upon an individual is great. It's a wonderful feeling to be defending the United States of America.

Cons

Deployments can weigh heavily on family life. An individual must be prepared to move several time in their career. This is probably the most challenging aspect.

Pros

You gain a lot of leadership experience, sense of teamwork, and opportunities to pursue higher education from the time you enter from the tuition assistance program.

Cons

it is great pay as an officer...however with all the downsizing those remaining in the service on active duty wind up doing many additional duties in addition to his/her primary job...and let's not forget about the "highly encouraged" volunteer functions that happen on the weekends or in your off duty time. Makes one wonder if that one paycheck is worth all the excess stress

Pros

Service to the nation in the world's best Air Force, paid education, paid madical and dental, world travel, challenging and important work

Cons

Frequent moves and obvious requirement to go where the Air Force needs you. Limited ability to rise to the top of the service.
