Pros

Good for benefits, unqiue experiences, learning new skills. You can do things in this profession that you cannot hardly anywhere else.

Cons

They have basically total control over your life. Your quality of life is made or broken by your company level leadership. Medical care is sub-par compared to the civilian world. You can get pulled away from your family for long periods of time with virtually no notice. No matter how old you are you will be treated more or less like a child. Joining a special volunteer unit is basically the only place you will be treated with respect and somewhat like an adult.
