Pros

More realistic hours than most would expect. Pay and benefits are more than fair. Promotions enable any soldier to move up in the "company" with enough hard work.

Cons

Hours can be much longer at times. Deployments an keep soldiers away from home for long periods. Can be dangerous.

Pros

Great leadership experience Good pay for officers Ability to travel Feeling of accomplishment The general public is very grateful for you service

Cons

Time away from family Constantly under microscope for appearance and actions. Army had lax entrance requirements for awhile, dealing with the personnel that this influx created can be problematic.
