Pros

Great opportunity to protect and serve your country. You learn everything from how to take care of/protect yourself and others. Great benefits for school.

Cons

Sometimes promotions don't come by so easily. A lot of hurrying up and waiting. Because many are employed by the US Army, positions are hard to find in the area you want to serve.

Pros

Management allows for flexibility with the schedule. Although they say overtime has to be cut, it is always available for people to work. There is always room to grow.

Cons

Most coworkers will point out your deficiencies rather than work harder themselves to look good for management. Lazy employees make the good ones do the work.

Pros

The US Army is a great place to start on your educational goals and to travel. It pays your tuition so that you can have a degree by the time you leave and it enables you to travel the world.

Cons

Downside would be if you are a single-parent, it is very difficult to balance the two if you are in a job and/or a unit in which you may be recalled at a moments notice.
