Pros

Great leadership opportunity Ability to do things that others pay to do Steady pay in an uncertain economic environment If you get fired you get moved to a position with greater responsibility

Cons

As a Platoon Leader, there are times you feel like a highly paid babysitter. Battalion leadership has a complete disconnect between what is actually feasible and what will make a good bullet on their Officer Evaluation Report

Pros

Right uniform, right place, and right time. If you adhere to these three principles you can be recognized as someone who is doing the right thing.

Cons

With the Army essentially being one of the largest employers within the United States and one of the oldest. There is often no continuity of information and to much variance from installation to installation.

Health Bennefits were above reproach. Advancement was pretty good. You get to see the world. At least the middle east anyway

Cons

Home time was horrible. Management had no clue nor did they care about family. very dangerous job. Get to play with a lot of cool stuff
