Pros

Very rewarding, satisfying. You feel like you have made a difference every day of work. Great camaraderie, enjoy fellow co-workers.

Cons

difficult hours, lots of moving involved, at times extremely harsh environments. long hours, you are owned, subsequently having to put up with a lot without question.

Pros

The benefits are top notch and being employed by the federal government means you're working for the largest company there is. Pay is increased annually as approved by congress and are practically guaranteed. Plenty of potential for professional development and advancement.

Cons

Work-life/Home-life is a grey area. If you're active duty like I was, you can get called in 24/7 for anything they want. Want a regular schedule? Don't join the Army. You will always have to do physical training. You will always have to work outside. Don't think that if you join a "cushy" job area that you'll have it easy. Dealing with the public is practically guaranteed unless you're in a combat arms job field.

Pros

Service to country. Real-world experience. Training. Adventure. Travel. Excellent benefits. Paid leave. Veterans benefits. Pension. Awards and decorations. Federal career.

Cons

Very political. Office politics. Rank (class) structure. UCMJ is very unjust. Lack of privacy. Physically demanding work. Lengthy deployments. Training.
