Pros

The army provides training to any career field that you're interested in ranging from supply, military police, dentist, medical field and many other jobs that you can think of. - Health benefits are amazing covering 100% for you and your family -They pay 100% of school tuition while your on active duty or National Guard at the same time giving you GI bill when you get out of the military. -It is a good place to start a career if you are unsure of where you want to go into in the future. -You travel different parts of the world and experience new and different things.

Cons

-If you have a family its hard being away if you are on a deployment -If dual military you sometimes have to sacrifice two different locations

Pros

Great for some. Good enough for others. It has been a great run and was worth the effort. Lots of great experiences for hands on leadership.

Cons

Multiple Deployments one year home one year gone unless you are in some unique career field. The performance measurement system is never administered properly (in my expereince) so people walk around thinking they walk on water when in reality have produced very little for the organization.
