Pros

Great leadership experience Good pay for officers Ability to travel Feeling of accomplishment The general public is very grateful for you service

Cons

Time away from family Constantly under microscope for appearance and actions. Army had lax entrance requirements for awhile, dealing with the personnel that this influx created can be problematic.

Pros

Excellent benefits! Training is top notch and is generally considered the top training institution in my career filed (Biomedical Equipment Technician).

Cons

The single biggest con for working for the US Army is long term deployments. Deployments mean time spent away from family. The other con is moving from duty station to duty station every few years, though some people "homestead" for years at a time.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Great hours.

Cons

Leadership positions filled with non-qualified or experienced people. Lack of upward mobility unless your "in" with someone.
