      Pros

      Good work, good benefits, good people. My work is challenging and interesting, my coworkers are smart, funny, personable and they all pull their own weight in terms of work. Also, the fact that we can work 9.5 hours a day and get every other Friday (or Monday) off, is an amazing perk.

      Cons

      Located in Suitland, hard to move from a GS12 to a GS13, since there are *a lot* of GS12s. Maybe the pay is not as good as in the private sector, if you are talented at salary negotiation, but if you're not, the pay is good (I think).

      Pros

      flexible hours, interesting people met on the road, pay is better than billed since the meter starts when you leave the door -- i.e., commuting time is billable PLUS you get mileage at 50 cents per. also, training was paid.

      Cons

      a month of work, tops..to be fair, it's billed as a temp job and so it is what it is.....there is potential for callbacks, though, for future non decennial projects like the economic surveys.

      * Solid pay and cost of living increases * Good insurance options * Recognized employer * Opportunities to learn more/grow professionally

      Cons

      * It's the government, so there's red tape and bureaucracy that can drive you a little nuts sometimes * Some people are content to rest on their laurels since the nature of the government sector is such that you're not going to get fired
