Pros

Best reason is : contributing to a very important department within our government that positively affects all of our lives. Example is : securing our tax dollars paid to Federal Government for our local area thereby helping to pay for & support police, firefighters, schools, roads, clean water, environment etc.

Cons

No health or dental insurance, 401K, or unemployment insurance. Short term jobs that end and no "Roll Over" of employees that are trained & excellent at their job and get glowing reviews from supervisors for completing work in a short time frame & under budget .

Pros

Tons of local jobs were offered to the general public. Some lasted only a few weeks, others lasted almost a year, just depended on what position you were hired into and how well you did your job. Management in local office was great, very productive crew of leaders for the local office.

Cons

Must do a much better job at screening applicants. Someone can just say they can type (doesn't matter if they can/can't, there is no test, just their word that they can), doesn't matter how slow or if they can at all (or if they even know how to operate a computer. Go back to the automated collection of information & payroll data...don't do another paper based Census ever again...I can only guess at how much wasted money was put into the 2010 Census by doing everything like they did 100 years ago
