Pros

Some people are really nice. There's free Keurig coffee and they give you a company mug on your first day (since they don't provide disposable cups).

Cons

There's a rather extensive hiring process (Wonderlic test, long-winded personality questionnaire, multiple interviews). *After you have read all of my Cons details, you'll learn why I believe this is a con. The office set-up is brutal - the cubicles are less than 3 feet high, so seated, you are face-to-face with your neighbors and it gets extremely loud in there. They will not allow you to work from home, ever, even during horrendous snow storms; they will require you to use a vacation/sick day... Oh, and unless you negotiate your PTO before accepting an offer, you will not have any days until after a year. Additionally, you will not be paid during any holidays off, during your first 60 days of work (so don't start around November!!) There benefits are beyond awful: medical/dental is poor, yet you're required to wait 90 days before being eligible (also if you smoke they require you to pay an additional $50; even though I don't smoke, I hated the rule since it didn't offset the premium costs for non-smokers). 401k, they will match the first 2% of the 6% you contribute (ie .33%). Sad. Depending on what department you are interested in, this can vary... But if you're interest is in Accounting/Finance, here's my perspective: if you're a male DO NOT consider USESI. The group consists of about 20 women, including your boss; I won't elaborate any further but outside the box you'll figure out what I'm implying... Additionally, you are not allowed to take a lunch break and if you do, you have to work an additional hour (10 hours/day, or minimum of 45 hours/week AT YOUR DESK); at first I thought I was being joked with but i quickly found out otherwise; you will be ridiculed if you do not work thru your lunch and eat at your desk. Furthermore, their operating system is worst than quickbooks, in my option; moreover, their entire accounting structure/function is an absolute disaster, as such, you will be poorly trained since everything is a virtual unknown. Ultimately, although at first glance it may not appear this way, USESI is NOT your average 'White-Collar' environment/job, ranging from the benefits, growth opportunities, to the office culture. Despite this, there remains to be a lot of office politics... In sum, if you have an Accounting/Finance degree from an accredited university and you're a dedicated individual, I enthusiastically recommend that you chose an opportunity elsewhere. They have a just-DO-it mentality (AKA shut your mouth and do it, don't provide input and/or suggestions for improvement) and I have always been a thinker and decision maker. You will merely be just a number or a body to fill their cube with. It's a dead-end job and the only demographic it would be ideal for is a mother who wants a simple, mindless thinking job. P.S. the office is freezing cold. Yes you will literally wear your coat while at your desk working. Good luck.
