Pros

Health insurance is paid at 75%. Match of 5% into FERS. Separate account of sick leave and annual leave. Start at 4 hours of accrued annual and sick leave each pay period. After 3 years it bumps to 6 hours of accrued annual leave every pay period.

Cons

Take home pay isn’t great. You have to need/want the benefits for this job to work out imo. Or, you have education and climb the ladder. Can feel like playing politics with the higher ups. Lots of work sometimes, can be difficult to learn “handbooks”, sometimes hard to get help. Mostly bc of the structure.
