      US Foods underwent many changes when I worked there.

      Pros

      The salary at US Foods is ok. New technologies were used, so you can learn them and put them on your resume'.

      Cons

      Benefits package is below average. Team structure is disorganized. Teams are composed of 80% consultants/contractors. Upper management is disorganized. They communicated to employees that they were preparing the company to go public, only to announce that the biggest competitor SYSCO would acquire US Foods.

      Pros

      Solid industry. Well known company.

      Cons

      Culture is lacking. Attribute some of this to the pending merger. Old fashioned management style with a few exceptions at this location. No one likes change, when making suggestions to improve inefficiencies with business process, the "this is how we've always done it" line gets brought up. Frustrating to have no room for growth within your own position.
