Pros

When I joined the company in 2007, I got a 30% bonus that was pad at 100%. The company had a long track record of paying bonuses, promoting from within, and excellent job security. But that was before the economy went sour. Since then, bonus percentages have been cut by 10% and generally, it's less and less each year. Still a good company, good culture, few people leave as it's a positive and professional environment.

Cons

I've been here for years and I've seen a lot of change, but nothing like what is coming our way in the next couple of years. US Foods was just bought by Sysco foods, our main competitor. My position may be ok, but there are thousands of people that will lose their jobs in the coming years. The company is telling us all what we want to hear right now to prevent a mob revolt. But when the integration is complete, they will start to remove the redundancy. Lots of uncertainty. I would certainly avoid this company if you had a better offer.

Pros

Many tools geared to help customers grow their business. Great training program. Great software. Ahead of the game against all of the competition. Love the innovation.

Cons

Pads too high on products. Good Old Boy Mentality in Management. If you aren't part of their clique, you are nothing. Division President is a bully and inspires others to do the same. Customer-geared promotions didn't address customer's needs, but US Foods needs. TM's are forced to make customers participate. Be prepared to work 7 days a week. Pretty much status quo for sales in foodservice, though. Be prepared for "ride-withs" 2-3 days per week. Never fear, it will only be your District Manager every 2-3 weeks. Very micromanaged.
