      Pros

      The Marine Corps provides great training and the ability to travel the world. The education benefits can't be beat. You also get to be around people from all walks of life which gives you a different perspective on other areas of the country as well as the world.

      Cons

      The military is a very high stress enviornment and can takes its toll on families. The family life can suffer because of long deployments. Many young Marines who marry to quickly find out that everything may be great while on station but rough once the deployments begin.

      Pros

      Pride in the job. Chance to see the world. A good place to start getting experience in an area you might not otherwise get. No risk of losing money in a failing economy.

      Cons

      Deployment tempo is hard on families. Expect to move about every 3 years. Pay is not all that great in the beginning; however it does get better and there are plenty of opportunities.
