Pros

- Personal growth - leadership and management of widely dispersed multi-disciplinary team execution. - Professional education required and continuing education opportunities at each step. - Work with people who have a commitment. - Rewarding to see the end product make a difference for national security.

Cons

- Funding for program can be inconsistent, subject to short term driven decisions by comptroller - Contracting process to engage industry can be slow.

Pros

Exciting job, rewarding, and good pay. You can never complain about a job where you get to fly around in formation and perform aerobatics.

Cons

The only reason I am leaving this job is the requirement to deploy, usually six months at a time. If you don't mind that, there is no better job.

Pros

You do not have to work very hard at NAVICP to receive a very substantial ($50,000 -$90,000 annual average) paycheck. Once you have your foot in the door, you only need to find an experienced goldbricker to lead you down the yellow brick road.

Cons

Very frustrating to try and do a good job and work a full honest day for the pay given. Every employee takes over one hour for lunch when only 30 minutes are authorized. Social hour takes up most of the workday. Most employees work harder to get out of work, than if they just did the assingment. Flexible work schedule (days and hours) are not abided by and not enforced. Workers show up when they want and leave when they feel like it, without the approval or use of overly generous sick (13 days/yr.), annual(20 days/yr.) and vacation (9 days/yr.) leave.
