Pros

The USPS provides the opportunity for life time benefits, investment plans and a secure pension plan upon retirement.

Cons

In higher level management the time spend mentoring others, in the field assisting all facility operations and assisting lead managers will monopolize your all your time and day.

Pros

The pay is stil that of Middle Class income. Union representation of the craft positions (Letter-Carrier, Clerk, Mail Handler) are still somewhat effective in advocating for the members.

Cons

The direction the organization has taken over the past 25 years has led it on a downward spiral. Upper management is comprised of individuals who are insufficiently educated in their positions. Selection to these positions is largely cronyism. The managerial atmosphere is politcal and much time, energy, and resources are wasted on defending the organization of EEO, and Sexual Harrassment abuses that are perpetuated by a lack of an educated and sufficiently accountable management team.
