Management sucks for the most part honestly. Many stations have a toxic environment but it depends on your supervisors. Upper management monitor your every move through your scanner and will write you up if you are taking too long of a break or lunch. They will find any little thing to write you up, and if your supervisors don’t want to do it, their managers will hound them on why they haven’t don’t any discipline. Working in different weather elements and still being expected to work at the same rate. Extreme heat in the summer with no A/C in the truck. Viscous dogs. No safety for carriers while working, many carriers have been robbed at gun point for mail, packages, and keys. No real work life balance! They try to keep you from using your PTO and sick leave that you have earned. No real growth in the company unless you want to be in management where they train you to treat employees like crap.
