You have to provide and maintain your own vehicle in many rural mail routes.

Learn more about the mail and why things may not get delivered on time

Cons

Not much accountability from management down, if a supervisor doesn't like you, you're pretty much screwed, lazy coworkers do as they please, no is a full sentence unless you make certain people mad they you gotta work over 16 hours sick or you're let go. Watched it plenty of times. Left for better work after doing the work of 3 people because there's no accountability for the ones who are lazy. Watched several people get hurt due to lax safety measures and down right exhaustion.
