Do you like working 10 hours and getting paid for 8? If so, a job as an RCA may be right for you!
Pros
-Good Hourly Rate -Lots of extra hours available if you're a good worker and network with other offices -Evaluation system rewards working efficiently and you can get paid 9 hours, for example if you finish the route in 6-7 hours of work.
Cons
-Draconian management hinders rather than helps productivity and kills morale. Many managers have little to no experience as carriers. In other words, they do not know how to do the job in which they are overseeing. -No benefits for part-timers and your years of service will not count toward retirement until you become regular. -Not a good fit for people with families, as you are expected to drop everything to provide coverage if they need you, but you could find yourself starving waiting for the phone to ring. -Regular carriers often take off for days after holidays, which offer heavy volume. So you don't get paid for the holiday and then you work twice as hard the day after as you go over the route's evaluated time. -Forced Sunday hours to work Amazon parcel deliveries. -Run down and dirty vehicles, equipment, and facilities are demoralizing and hurt productivity.
