Pros

Good pay, benefits and retirement. Annual and sick leave time, Union protected to keep management from running the place how they want and firing people for no reason like most jobs in the south. Easy work

Cons

Favoritism, toxic work environment because of poor management who care nothing about customer service or clerks only carriers. They keep trying to abolish clerk positions and expect 2 or 3 to work the hours of 6 or 7. They show favoritism toward senior employees and expect junior employees to do everything while letting them slack off. They change hours and shifts forcing employees to work out of schedule and off days when we have bid hours. Although they cause the post office to remain short staffed and fail to post vacant positions because they want to receive bonuses for abolishing jobs that we need but they try to cover up that need by either management doing clerk work illegally and forcing you to do the work of 3 employees and overtime and expect the mail to be distributed in the same amount of time as if we had a full staff. Even though the post office is short staffed they expect the same speed and service on the windows when the mystery shopper comes in. However management does not answer phone calls and does not take care of customer complaints. There have been times when management was not even present and I was alone with no help.

Pros

Pays is decent, starting at around $16. You get raises. Free limited uniforms.

Cons

YOU MUST be part of the Union in this place, or else they eat you alive. Requesting Time Off is a hassle even with plenty of time in advance. Always have to make sure you have paperwork of everything so they can't lie. No set schedule whatsoever for entry level, because Management is very lazy and does not want to make a schedule for entry level personnel. Most of the vehicles are broken or need serious overhaul maintenance, and most of them (about 99%) don't have a/c for the summer. Summers are brutal outside. Management likes to overwork you, but if you're smart you won' allow that. Beware of micromanagement. They rarely promote from within.

Pros

You can get away with a lot, hard to get fired, decent pay for the work when you get used to it, occasionally easy days.

Cons

RCA is not full-time guaranteed, doesn't accrue benefits, time off, seniority, etc. Lots of harrassement, hectic work environment (loud, negative, frenzied), carrying mail is difficult to learn for many people. No room to move up as RCA for the most part. BAD work/life balance, say goodbye to the people you love.
