Pros

You’re gonna get paid on time. That’s it. No other positives

Cons

Coworkers. Management. Micromanaging supervisors. Backstabbing postmasters. Not enough training for the position. Employees having sex with other employees after hours in the office. Zero loyalty. Unrealistic expectations of you from every person in every position above you. Getting not only reprimanded, but formally written up for not having access to my “Dog Spray” (basically just pepper spray) when I was bitten by a dog on my route. This is a soul-sucking job that will take and take and take from you and will never give any positive reinforcement at all, ever. Unless you’re into constant negativity, don’t even bother with this job. The pay is not worth what you actually do. In California, the starting pay is $19 for a mail carrier, which is less than what fast-food workers make in the state.
