      Sounds good, but not all that its cracked up to be

      Pros

      Pay is good, holidays and Sundays off, people were very nice and working independently.

      Cons

      Scheduling can be bad, sometime you work 10 hour days, get called in on your day off, opportunity for advancements are very slim, feeling overwhelmed at times, very strenuous on your body and NO BENEFITS!! Also the Postal Service is in a huge 5 Billion dollar hole, lots of uncertainty going on..Pay freeze and a chance that hours will be cut soon.

      Pros

      It`s a very good company to work for,the work is hard mentally and physically,but the pay and benifits are very good. It is a Union Company,but not a closed shop,which means you can work there without joining the Union if you do`nt want to.

      Cons

      They are not doing very well financially right now.You have to pass the civil service test,and a physical to get hired.In the blue collar side they hire part time only,then eventually depending on demand for hiring and attrition,and if they like your work habits,they will promote you to full-time.

      Pros

      The only pro for working as an RCA for the USPS is the pay.

      Cons

      I have worked in three separate post offices and have always had the same issues. There is absolutely no team comradeship. No one cares about anyone or anything else besides themselves. If you are an RCA or a PTF, you are treated as though you are worthless. Everyone is out for there own gain and they care nothing for the person in the next case.
