Pros

Compensation and benefits package is hard to beat.

Cons

Management does not have a clue as to how to communicate with its employees, nor do they know how to manage those employees. The postal service is an incestuous business. Family members and best buds are often chosen for positons of authority. These people aren't qualified to manage employees or lead them. Oftentimes, the people chosen for promotions are "technicians"--people who seemly know the "business." This is a fallacy--they neither know the business or how to grow it, and worse, they do not know how to manage their employees.

Pros

Benefits and retirement. Management usually lets us have time off if we ask for it. We generally get new and fairly nice equipment to work with and it is nice being a local driver and not being on the road for several weeks at a time.

Cons

Favoritism and back-stabbing. I used to be proud to work there but it seems like all the bad employees are going into management and the good employees are being taken advantage of. There is no punishment for the employees who sit around and watch others do their work for them. Management just wants to do their time and go home, they don't want make any more work for themselves.

Pros

The pay is good but as an RCA you may wait several years before getting benefits. Mail doesn't talk back. Getting to know your customers is pretty neat too, so long as you get to work the same route pretty often.

Cons

They always tell you what you did wrong and never any praise. But let a custome call with a complaint and they are johnny on the spot to let you know that you screwed up and sometimes you didn't even do it!
