you start for 360 day term contract and every 360 days you get fired then possibly rehired if they want you back. so every year you take a 5 day furlough you are not a permanent or "career" employee until after possibly 5-6 years which then you don't have to get fired and rehired every 360 days. which now you receive sick leave hours

and then when you get to be career your overtime hours are cut and the temporary position you held before is now being held by someone new who is now taking your overtime hours because paying you overtime may cost USPS $45 per hour as opposed to paying the "CCA" (temp) overtime hours which costs USPS $22.50 per hour
