Pros

I get my paycheck on time.

Cons

PSEs(SSDA) 1. Do not get paid for all holidays that the postal service takes. You take a day off without pay. 2. Your time in this position does not apply towards anything. 3. You must go through this position to become a regular employee with real benefits and retirement. The treatment of folks in this position is a big part of the reason why the postal Service cannot keep employees. The postal service relies on this position so much it would seem that they would try and take a little better care of these folks. The unions at the postal service are a laughing stock. They want the PSEs to be members but they don't want to negotiate any better for them. The postal Service pays out bonuses to their postmasters while taking 9 billion in tax dollars to revamp something that bonuses were paid on for years that doesn't work.
