Pros

Good salary and benefits. Great coworkers. Present position is fantastic!

Cons

Some managers are not the brightest and afraid to push back at idiotic changes for nothing more than the sake of change - unjustified egoism among some managers. Management often not willing to stand up for their good employees.

Pros

Union involvement means pay and benefits are somewhat protected. Decent pay and good benefits plus decent working conditions make this a good job.

Cons

Union involvement also means many workers who do not perform their job well are protected from being disciplined or fired in many cases. The additional work they will not perform is put off on the employees who do perform well.
