Pros

Secure place to earn a decent wage, decent benefits, and get some technical training. You can work with some of industry's state of the art equipment over a wide scope, if you're in a large facility.

Cons

No opportunity to be creative or advance your technical career potential beyond a certain point. Management has a serious lack of desire to cultivate a progressive labor force that communicates at all. Lot's of apathy.
