Pros

- Job Security since its a government position - Get raises by applying for positions at higher levels - A lot of vacation

Cons

- No real responsibility so gets boring - People around you have no idea about the business - Once you reach a certain high level, it's difficult to get promoted

Pros

Dedicated with a purpose to serve the American public. Lifetime job security for current employees with seven years of service.

Cons

The postal service is changing and must downsize to compete in todays world of the internet. The government regulations and laws set by Congress prevent us from becoming a lean and efficient company.

Pros

USPS offer good hourly pay, due to the union.

Cons

Union for Rural Carriers is in management's back pocket. Management treats you like you are less then human. Teamwork does not exist. Everyone is out for themselves.(Management, co-workers, etc.) You only receive hourly pay until you make full time regular, last person that made regular took 10 years.
