Pros

You get health packages to decide on instead of jut one or none at all. I have a job and need to keep it.

Cons

Supervisors who have no desire to learn how to do their job. People get promoted via family relations or due to the fact that they screwed up in one plant and got shifted to a new one. If you are not in the 'click' you are treated as a lesser person, this is not just a personal observagtion., Many people feel this way where I work though few will sign thier names to a complaint because of the blanket of fear that layes over the plant. Supervisors lie about everything, from stupid meaningless stuff to issues of training, work duty, you name it. The excuse is always "I didn't know that, or I will have to ask someone else". The list of things about this job that make it feel like a different type of hell is overwhelming. It feels as if there is no winning against the tyrany, the union does not even touch the problems.

Pros

You can earn a good living, with good benefits, and if you enjoy the outdoors as I do, then this may be for you.

Cons

Alot of politics and beaurocracy involved in this work, management doesn't allways treat you fairly, like nothing you do is or ever will be good enough for them. The weather can make an allready stressfull job, even more stressfull, if you work outdoors. To much micro management.

Pros

Relative job security, decent insurance, knowing that you are serving your community.

Cons

You are treated like an animal. Unions are a waste unless you are black. The former mailhandler branch president and his cronies stole in excess of $100K and are getting away with it. Don't get me started on the open racism... Oh, and if you exhibit a work ethic, YOU will do all the work while your co-workers play dominoes or go socialize at the local 24 hour McDonalds. Management is related to most of the hourlies. Workplace safety is a joke.
