Pros
The work is not physically demanding compared to other factories jobs. The work is the same process every day. Pay is acceptable, benefits are good, the healthcare options and cost are reasonable, there is a retirement pension. The work is inside, it is climate controlled.
Cons
Coworkers with poor with ethics. You will stand most of your shift and steps vary to a massive degree, I average 10 to 80k daily steps according to my step counter. You can work a lot of hours especially during the holiday season. Working most if not all of the holidays. If you are one of the carriers delivering mail overtime is mandatory extra day and hours year round in my local area. If you want to work during the day you will need lucky timing or have to be a mail carrier or a window clerk or have years of seniority. There is a high turnover rate due to the inability of the new hires to get used to working nights, such as 6 to 230am or 4 to 12am.
