Pros

Great entry level job to transition into the work force. Starting salary is competitive. Cohort of 36 trainees who are also recent college graduates. Upper management is superb if you're in the right department.

Cons

18 month trainee program is not structured. Monthly training is more of a social event rather than "training". Most of the learning comes from googling and high pressure on deliverables. Opportunities to move up is extremely limited. Salary increase is abysmal or next to none.

Pros

The Post office was one of the best jobs i worked at.For one reason,is you learn a couple essential characteristics in life. Such as,good work ethic, drive and determination. I could go all day talking good about usps.

Cons

The downside to the company is that management spoils people with the most seniority. Its alot of lazy people that depends on the youth.

Pros

Its a great place to work. You meet a lot of amazing people. Your check is always good because you always get overtime. The customers are great!

Cons

your work hours are never the same. Sometimes the culture in some of the locations can be very racist. Most post masters are great, but you may get a few supervisors that need more training. The carriers are rude and look at clerks as their personal assistants. You can work up to 12 hours a day with out any notice. 6 days a week is mandatory. and your days off are never the same. Ive worked as much as 16 days back to back w/o a day off. Most supervisors and Post Masters don't care about you being tired or having a family outside of work. There motto " The mail must keep moving". I you even mention the union you wont have a job. oh and you don't get benefits at all until your hired as a "career regular" which can take years. ALso, ou pay for your uniform out of pocket until you make career status
