Stress! The Unions and Post Office have two different visions and are not a team. This causes most of the problems within the post office. Split shift - You could work 3 hours and then they send you home and have you come back and work 1, 2, or 3 more hours. Termination threat - In your 90 days you can and will be let go for any reason. Career route - Its very hard to attain a career position. The Postal service is going through lots of changes and plants are closing. Be prepared to be laid off and called back or they may eliminate your position all together. The post office is changing and who knows what it will be when it comes out at the end. Even though the Post office claims that they have never laid any one off they do not consider you an employee. They just recently eliminated the PMR position nation wide and every one of those people were told if they did not find another position they would lose their job. Lots of people who have worked for the Post Office for many years lost their jobs and the ones who did not, lost all of their seniority and had to start over. The only remaining PMRs are only able to work at 2 hour offices. Those offices are rare and only have one employee working withing it. Also those offices will more than likely be closed soon and those few positions that are remaining will be completely eliminated.

They expect $28/hr performance for $15/hr pay!
