Pros
Great job, nice to be out on your own delivering mail in your own car. Easy work and you get paid for how fast you are in a sense. Run a route thats rated at 8 hours in 6 hours you get paid for 8 hours as a part timer. Run a route rated at 8 hours in 10 hours you get paid for 10 hours! Win win. Really good benefits especially if you can make it to a full time position.
Cons
1. When I worked there they were understaffed so you would have to run multiple routes in a day occasionally. 2. Seemed to have not the best management. Nice people but not too great at their job. 3. Some of the other carriers were dicks (most were not). Really even if they were dicks it didn't effect you much they were just somewhat particular on what you did on there route which you could ignore them and there wouldn't be much they could do. 4. Union is kind of dumb imo. They had some weird rules that made it a bit hard at times and annoying (you'll see eventually if you work there). 5. Not enough training/inadequate. Each route you learn they're suppose to give you X runs through it before you run it alone however, that rarely happened for me. Alot of negatives but really it is a pretty good job.
