Pros

Pay is great. Hard to match, especially without any higher education.

Cons

Even though I was management, management throughout is not qualified or capable of successfully managing. Promotions are given to unbelievably unqualified candidates and the higher you progress, the less intelligent the person is. I am trying to present this in an accurate manner. I am not a disgruntled employee. I was in upper management and regularly performed my bosses job when he was out. I was not passed over for promotions and had a nearly 20 year career with the Postal Service. Workers have no accountability for the quality or quantity of their work, and supervisors have no leverage to correct this. Most workers sleep or watch videos for most of their shifts and perform about 2 hours of actual work in the day. I was a supervisor for 8 years and did little myself. It's an easy job, just culture and environment are severely disappointing.

Pros

Great Pay, Paid Personal Leave and 4 Hours of Sick Leave is earned every per pay period if you work the 2 weeks. Thrift Savings Plan. Opportunity for advancement in different areas. Small Bonus every year, but it's not a lump sum bonus, it is spread out throughout the year.

Cons

The environment is toxic at times. Managers scream on the floor. Mandatory Overtime all the time. They hire their friends who do not really have much experience. No support. They used to pay for schooling, but they no longer do that. No overtime pay, just straight pay. No COLA. Getting a job or a promotion is based on who you are in a clique with.
