Warehouse and Inventory are not climate controlled, training in most areas is subpar, very stuck in their ways and not very accepting of change (you hear the phrase “that’s the way we’ve always done it”), some of the management team is seen as “untouchable” no matter what they do they’re protected, very small town mentality especially when it comes to gossiping, have a tendency to do it the way upper management thinks it should be done instead of consulting their operators which usually ends up wasting time and resources, are willing to cut corners to get jobs done faster even if it means also cutting safety, the pay is “good for the area” not the industry ( generally if you’re willing to drive to STL you can make $5-$10 an hour more for the same work)
