Pros

USAA used to be the company to work for. Military mission, great culture, set on core values, innovative company and excellent work life balance.

Cons

CEO has literally tanked the company, Doesn't listen the employees and dictates whatever he wants. Many many employees have asked for transparency and specifically why there have been many changes from benefits to return to office to impacts to culture to innovation cuts, etc. Nothing has been transparent and instead there have been continuous lies from the CEO to upper management. This used to be one of the best companies to work for because the company cared MOST about LISTENING. Now they shut down the employees ability to speak and they refuse to listen. They just dictate whatever they want and could care less that employee satisfaction has hit an all time low of 37% in USAA history. Sad to see a CEO tank such a great company and not live by the core values or mission that made USAA who they were.

Cons

- Call Center Hell - Back to Back Calls - Extreme Micromanagement - Unattainable standards - You end up having to work overtime just to keep from drowning - Toxic Positivity But No Real Resolutions - Constant Pay/Benefit/Bonus Cuts while executives get massive bonuses and the company brags about record financial success - PTO is given but not enough days are made available for you to actually take PTO so you end up having to take unplanned PTO and are written up for it - Pay is not competitive among claims - Schedules do not allow for work life balance - Major Burn Out - Glorified Call Center Representative - Massive IT Issues - No help from management, leadership or executives

Pros

USAA is one of the best employers in the world. You can work here your entire career and retire nicely with the benefits. - best retirement benefits (3% pension + 8% match to 4% contribution … yeah you read that right). - great pay and bonus structure - great work/life balance

Cons

The tech side can feel slow paced compared to the industry. USAA allows you to dive deep on your technology, but not wide enough to have a lot of context on the entire tech stack. Pay is great but lagging in the industry. USAA is pretty good about keeping up with this though.
