Pros

8% match on 401k, education payment to get MBA or CFP.

Cons

No chance to move up in the Addison office. They say no cold calls but their outbound campaign is cold as ice and the members are not expecting your call. You get voicemails most of the time. If you are willing to live in San Antonio you have a better shot to move up, they do not promote Addison employees. If there is a manager job open and a person from SA applies you are toast. If you work here best thing is get them to pay for your CFP and get out! You can do better on your own and get six figures if you have ambition. Recruiter will lie to you about the role and speak highly because they are not on the phones. Those that are not on the phones will not like their job but managers (that maybe spent a year on the phones) love their jobs. Inbound you will get debt calls and expect to sell life insurance to those that can't afford the dollar menu.

Pros

Cafeteria (different food stations) and a "fitness center" but after working 10 hour days all you wanted to do was get out of there.

Cons

They Micro-manage employees (will write you up for taking bathroom breaks) managers act like the place is a branch of the military. My manager once told me "if you're on time, you're late" which I guess is a military term and way off base. I get paid to get there at a certain time, I'm not showing up earlier because you're a psycho. We are in the civilian world! Worst part is they say how much military members are respected and valued but want employees to cross-sell them products they don't even need! I felt extreme pressure to be unethical and even lie to make sure my manager wasn't harassing me about sales.

Pros

Honorable mission, excellent benefits, dedicated front-line employees. Unparalleled access to personal/professional development. Opportunities to (internally) career change without taking financial step backwards due to unique business model product/services mix. Great campus (San Antonio & Phoenix) with amenities (ex. onsite gyms, food courts, concierge staff for hire, day/summer child care programs, work from home options (most disciplines), non-emergency medical facilities.

Cons

Weak leadership, hero-culture; firefighters are revered but no true appetite for methodical solution planning and data-driven decisions. There are pockets of superior leadership but they are nearly always "tamed" or overcome by the legacy culture. Poor leadership interpretation of enterprise goals and a near non-existent strategic focus on long term impact of business decisions. Dysfunctional executive council; empire-building abounds.
