      Recently Joined USI and It's Better Than I Expected!

      Pros

      USI claims to be different and better. After being with another Top 5 broker for the past 11 years and wasn't looking to change, I was impressed and intrigued with USIs growth so I decided to see what they were doing. Based on my due diligence I could see that USI seemed to have a superior platform and process . And, now after my first month here at USI, they truly are delivering on that claim and in fact it is even better than I expected!! Looking forward to continued growth and success!!

      Pros

      The company CARES!! Both about its employees and its clients! Onboarding process and new hire training are top-notch! Their goal, purpose, mission, etc are clearly outlined. It seriously feels like a family—the ones you *want* to spend time with!!

      Cons

      Employer has high standards and measures for accountability. You cannot slack off and get away with not pulling your weight.

      Vacation time No micromanaging as long as you do your job Time to do your job Training Department management willing to help Not an entry level position Good work/life balance

      Cons

      Very expensive benefits (good benefits, but super expensive) Paying for parking ($82 a month to work at this location) Favoritism - among employees and among departments Drama filled employees, negative work environment (bullying, mean spirited coworkers; language, excessive cursing) Lack of structure leaving employees that do their job picking up the pieces for those who don't Limited raises Constant phone and system issues and not a very good IT department to back it up Unhelpful HR - its always someones fault or someone else's problem No jeans, ever
