Pros

If you are driven by sales and numbers there is potential to make good money. The vibe of the company is friendly. They train you well and everyone that I met and worked with was pleasant and professional. For me this was better suited as a short-term job but for others it can be a career choice. My time at USCC gave me the opportunity to comfortably pay my bills while still saving money every month. I do not regret working for USCC at all and they can be a much more desirable employer than most retail jobs.

Cons

The company culture is bit boring and dated compared to their competitors...think office culture tropes but somehow even blander. They have this really peculiar drive to use inflated corporate-buzzwords as solutions to every problem, something every company does but USCC ramps it up to almost parody levels. It makes you feel like you are in a sitcom or comic strip that pokes fun at bizarre company cultures. Depending on your location and staffing the work-life balance can struggle. I would rarely get two days off in a row, my manager was nice but tone-deaf and couldn't understand why a full time employee would like to work five days and then have two days off. It felt like I was never really away from the store and could never make plans to do much of anything because I'd only get one day off at a time. Couldn't stray too far or stay up too late (like most people do on their weekends) because you'd have to be up and ready the very next morning to report back to work. It is retail so you'll have to deal with difficult customers. There is a whole other level of stress when you are dealing with the public's cellphone/billing issues, and after some time you may be considering if the commission check is worth it. It is a peculiar phenomenon to leave your sales job and be congratulated by peers and coworkers for getting out. I've noticed this trend for every cellular company, so I wonder how much long-term employees actually enjoy what they do.
