Pros

The job is relaxed, and the department is very friendly and welcoming. Work-life balance is a strength, and when I left most people were working from home the vast majority of the time.

Cons

For the same reason that the department is easy-going, it's also somewhat mediocre. Ultimately, it's a good job for individuals who are happy to coast, but not for those who want growth, interesting work or high earning potential. The department also suffered heavy attrition in the wake of the pandemic, and lost talent and core leadership which it has struggled to replace.

Great culture, but need better benefits

Pros

A strong company culture driven by a set of Core Values embraced by all. Bad eggs are few and far between, and are rooted out quickly.

Cons

For an organization that prides itself on strong benefits, the reality is UWCU is lacking compared to other top employers in the area. Two weeks of paid parental leave, for example, is nothing. It really should be improved.
