Pros

Good company overall but the NYC reps are miserable because of the sales management.

Cons

Toxic work environment for the sales reps in the NY region.

Our Sales teams are vital to creating those lasting and meaningful relationships with our customers across North America. That is why hearing about your experience at Uline is disheartening. We’re always striving to be our best —including an evolving mentor program and providing professional training opportunities to employees at all levels, including managers. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Pros

There are some genuinely good leaders/managers at the PA branch. There are also some who can’t walk and chew gum at the same time and when they tell you to do something you want to pull your hair out. Pay is competitive for the industry and the bonuses are generous. The main benefit of uline is the reputation it has in the industry. It is ridiculously strong. I worked for 2 years at uline in a production role with a business management degree and when I decided I was done I was offered jobs as a manager at 3 new companies within a month of going through the interview/hiring process. If you graduate without much experience this is a path you can take.

Cons

The micromanagement is truly baffling. Consistently talking about production and accuracy but wasting your time “coaching” you on stuff so that they have something to write down on a paper to make it look like they are doing something. Hard work does not get rewarded, great associates get ignored while the poor ones get badgered, but if you have one bad day you’ll certainly still hear about it. The PTO is awful. Worked there for 2 years and still consistent got denied requests for time off.

The first job I ever had, and the worst I’ll ever have.

Pros

You and your coworkers will hate your jobs so much that you’ll probably become best friends. There’s a great Thai place nearby.

Cons

I can only speak to my experience in the Internet department when I say that this is the most toxic place I will ever work. I started Uline out of college excited to learn and grateful for the opportunity to work for such a ‘successful’ and efficient company. For my first year I drank the kool-aid- kept my head down, took on extra work. The interesting thing about this department is that it’s like quick sand. The more you try to do to succeed, the more quickly you will sink. This is because promotions and relationships are not based on hard work or real achievements, but on personal feelings and who can yell the most ideas over everyone else in meetings. You get extra points if you can make someone else look stupid in front of management. Management in this department has been made aware of this type of overly-competitive, undermining culture on multiple occasions but nothing happens. Why? Because they are the source of it. The Internet department at Uline is run by incompetent, egotistical maniacs who hates anyone more technical or creative than them. Uline hires people like me because I didn’t know any better. They spam this page with fake reviews and tell you it’s harder to get into than Harvard, and you’ll feel special. Don’t let this be the first place you work because you will become jaded and exhaust yourself trying to succeed somewhere that doesn’t care how hard you work. Oh, and their “3 bonus programs” is worthless because when it times to negotiate for a higher pay, they’ll decline because suddenly your bonuses are considered a part of your base pay. Weird how that works. In case you can’t tell by now.. you should not work here.

We pride ourselves on hiring great managers and try to facilitate an environment in which hard work and quality results never go unnoticed. We also encourage employees to utilize our open-door policy and discuss their questions and feedback with management. If needed, our Human Resources department is always on hand to guide those conversations.Additionally, we are proud to offer our bonus programs to every employee at Uline because we truly are thankful for the hard work that our team members put in every day. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
