Pros

A place to get your foot in the door for the Airline industry. Meet new people. See and live life from outside the aircraft. Free flights!

Cons

Terrible pay for how hard you work. Raises are terrible and infrequent. Advancement is hard, but available. Recognition is there from supervisors, but upper management, not so much. Good benefits, but cost WAY too much

Pros

It can be a fun job working around airplanes and constantly meeting new people. If you get some time off the flight benifits are great and come in handy. :)

Cons

Working around airplanes can be dangerous and the pay definitely doesn't compensate for this. Also Delta Global Services (DGS) doesn't supply the staffing to handle what is required so you will work very shorthanded on a regular basis. Upper management seems to be disconnected and doesn't seem to know anything about what goes on and what employees need to do there job.

A great way to remain poor

Pros

The flight benefits can be nice, provided you get some days off and the flights have enough open seats. The contracts I've worked overall were pretty good at not making work for people during their down time

Cons

Working on the ramp is physically demanding, and the pay does not reflect this. Nor does it reflect the fact that working around airplanes can be hazardous. With such a low hourly wage you can't afford the health insurance they offer if you are single. Management is not typically stocked with leaders. Many managers take the "if I'm not telling you you're not doing your job, then I'm not doing my job" approach.
