Pros

Good compensation, interesting projects to be proud of, great pension plan, excellent benenfits, flexible working hours, great employees to work with and a very stable place to work during a recession.

Cons

Union Bank has a stressful work environment. Most staff members in IT are asked to be On Call 24/7 about 50% of the time, some 100% of the time, to support systems. There are few opportunities for training because we are too busy to break away from our projects. The bank is understaffed as a whole.

Pros

Union offers full benefits for part time employment. They also have a good CSR training program. People in the training program in Yorba Linda were very helpful.

Cons

Big Bear Lake Office use to be an excellent place to bank and work when they had long term people from the local community giving friendly customer service. Open conversation in the bank and in this tiny community watched while Management Terminated more than a dozen long term employees and other employees quit in frustration over a 18 month period. There's only 18 positions at this branch. Management at this branch replaced these positions with personal and family friends.....who had little or no banking or financial back ground. Even today 5/4/2011 word of mouth is destroying what ever reputation Union Bank had in this highly visible, small community.

Pros

Competitive pay and good benefits.

Cons

It's not about what you know but instead who you know. Strong work ethic is definitely not appreciated and leadership is terrible. If you complain, you WILL BE retaliated against. Many of the senior management and leadership have come to Union Bank after everything hit the fan with Wells Fargo. Needless to say, Union Bank is the new Wells Fargo.
