Pros

The Mechanical Department has taught me alot about how we move goods from one place to another. Locomotives are an interesting piece of machinery and im grateful for the learning experience. Solid pay and benefits.

Cons

Working for the Railroad has a tendency to be hard on your personal life. Ive missed holidays, birthdays and vacations due to stringent time off practices. The pay if it was better could off set the cons. But in reality the time away from doesn't always equate to a financially secure life. Im feeling I need more.

Pros

Retirement is the only reason employees stay

Cons

Literally everything else. Old Sr Leadership think collaborating can only be done in office and younger “up and comers” just go along with it. Always in fear of losing your job so can’t speak up.
