Pros

Training & networking opportunities, UP is very involved in the community (lots of ways to get involved with this as an employee), Employee Resource Groups are awesome. They have a really nice training center downstairs where you can take classes ranging in plenty of railroad & non-railroad related topics.

Cons

UP is very focused on cutting costs often times in ways that impact the employee experience. The vast majority of Sales roles feel a bit more like a Customer Service role. Technology is extremely outdated, did not have the tools to effectively do my job. Your experience depends very heavily on who your manager is, which changes very often for most.
