Pros

Pay is fantastic. 24 years old making almost $80k/year + bonuses.

Cons

As I was a manager (MYO), Upper management is very incompetent, does not care about your "time off" or life. If you are an "A-hole" then you are fit for this job. I have respect for the people that worked for me (conductors and engineers) in Denver, CO and the feeling was mutual. I saved the company millions of dollars, worked 70+ hrs a WEEK, all during the night time, and they decided to fire me for no apparent reason. They don't listen to me, they don't care about me. I'm the "nice guy" type or personality, hard working, very dedicated.......but the company doesn't care.

Pros

Most of the people are really good, helpful, and treat others respectfully. There is a lot of talent, and people are willing to share that. In the IT department, most managers are very respectful of people's private time, so there isn't much overtime. Of course there have been some major exceptions to that, but they don't last.

Cons

The morale is terrible and getting worse, but management cheerleads. Every quarter they say how much more productive we are and how happy the employees are, but they are not at all receptive to criticism. They smile and tell us why we're wrong. People are steadily leaving through retirement and quitting, but they aren't being replaced. We're getting all their old work, and no one wants to touch it because we don't know how it works. Changes take forever as a result. I've seen productivity fall terribly, but management is saying it's improving. They even changed the employee survey to make a bad review nearly impossible and then publicized how the scores improved! Forget about working from home. You can once per week, but they really have their eyes on people, so I'd use that perk cautiously.

Pros

continuously learning and challenging. everyday is a different day!

Cons

Manager's attitude always looking to blame someone. Upper management has favorite employee's who rules don't apply. Managers are trained to look for something negative to catch employees doing something bad. Leadership promotes to manage by FEAR. No effective training managers DH and RS are always mad & frustrated. Managers only take time to write a negative commit. We are encourage to target new employees.
