Pros

Pay is good, long-standing company with solid future

Cons

Not much done for quality of life for managers on the engineering side. Treatment is rarely favorable. Sever lack of appreciation for field level who keep the railroad profitable.

Pros

Good money for high school education

Cons

No work life balance. On call 24/7(no joke). No Holidays off No paid sick leave Working all shifts. Working outside regardless of weather conditions. Hypocrisy. Rules only matter when they need to punish employees, otherwise safety and rules don’t matter as long as you move freight.
