Pros

Making great pay while keeping people safe. You can move up while showing true dedication to your craft, and you don’t have to drink the coolaid to be in management. There is room for growth, and you will learn a lot.

Cons

Don’t get hurt, it’s a dangerous job.

Pros

None to speak of really.

Cons

Too many to list. On call all the time with no idea when you'll go to work. Can't take any time off or they fire you. To take what little PTO they have, they make you submit doctor visit documentation within 48 hours or you're fired. Constant harassment is through the roof. Pay sucks after taxes, retirement taxes, union dues and health care premiums. No matching 401k.
